Manifestation and attraction

You’ve probably heard of the idea that if you send your intentions out into the universe, then the universe will incorporate your intentions into its grand plan and manifest what you want in visible form.

It’s an idea that was popularized by Rhonda Byrne’s book  The Secret in recent years, but somehow, when you come to look at the details in both books and websites galore, you often find that authors who speak with great authority about the concept manifestation don’t really have much to say when it comes to telling you precisely how you can attract reality and manifest your desires.

Manifestation is an idea that appeals to a lot of people – for understandable reasons.

And those people want simple instructions on how to manifest reality and to try it out for themselves.

You don’t have to be flaky, with woo-woo worldviews, to want to improve your situation in life. Sometimes people take esoteric ideas to the limit – and then you have to rein in the excesses of the fanatics in the flaky ones among us.

Equally, if you come from a scientific and rational background, you might well have to overcome your innate tendency to see anything like manifestation which is not explainable in terms of normal physical laws and theories as unsubstantiated drivel.

So it’s difficult: there are many different attitudes, people come from many different emotional and physical and spiritual backgrounds, and all in all, the best proof of the reality of manifestation is your personal experience of making it work.

So what do you do?

Most instructions centre on the fact that you can convey your desires to the universe by visualizing them.

It seems that this sends your intentions out into the universe, and this in turn allows the universe to manifest what you want – if you’re doing things in the right way.

There’s a kind of exponential interest in manifestation and the law of attraction, which is demonstrated in how the subject has become increasingly popular.

A lot of people are spending a lot of time building vision boards, visualizing their objectives, and forming goals and objectives.

Sadly, though, many people find that their manifested goals just don’t come to reality.

You could assume that this was because the universe had a better idea for you, or it could be because somebody (you) wasn’t sincere in their intention to get a particular outcome.

And often, regrettably, you’ll find that the people who write about manifestation blame the person who is visualizing and trying to obtain an objective for not being serious or not trying hard enough.

Clearly that’s completely unfair, and it can lead people to feel guilty about what they’re doing in life – which adds to the burden of stress that many of us already feel, and is generally completely unhelpful.

But, on the other hand, if you try this for yourself you might find that suddenly you begin experiencing weird coincidences – you might find that the Universe seems to be sending you signals supporting your goals and objectives.

Indeed, when you feel that life is going for you, not against you, then it’s probably because you’re doing something very specific on a subconscious level.

You’re probably sending out the right vibes from the right state of energy – a positive state of belief and expectation.

And sure, people who deride the concept of law of attraction and manifestation will tell you that it’s nothing to do with some mysterious universal energy or universal intelligence or cosmic consciousness – they will simply tell you that what you get in life is the result of hard work. As Jack Niklaus – or was it Arnold Palmer – used to say, “the harder I work, the luckier I get”.

Of course there’s the need for you to take action – nobody would deny that.

And of course the universe is not going to take credit for the work you put into manifesting something. That would be ludicrous.

But the law of attraction works in a context of everyday life.

You know, you may have access to other people who can help you achieve your objectives, but it’s the universe which may be responsible for introducing you to them by means of a “coincidence” which brings about an opening for you that you would not otherwise have achieved.

I think the thing here is this: manifestation is not a substitute for self belief and hard work. It’s a framework in which you can make your life easier by having the universe cooperate with you, by choosing the path that leads you to success, and by supporting you in your general objectives.

Sceptics will say that there is no such thing as manifestation and the law of attraction is drivel – they refer to a piece of research in psychology called self-efficacy  which is all about believing you have the capacity to achieve the things you want to achieve.

But when you analyse it all, the remarkable coincidences which people experience in life can be so profound they shake you to the very soul: and when that happens, you surely have to look inwards for an explanation of what’s happening which goes beyond the physical laws of the universe, and invokes the spiritual laws of the universe.

Yoga For My Readers In England

I just wanted to post a quick note for my readers in England who have written to me asking for techniques which can help speeding up manifestation. I am a firm believer in the idea that a healthy mind and a healthy body go together – indeed, I would go further than this, and propose that unless you’re engaged in some kind of physical fitness regime, you can’t really overcome stress, and you can’t expect to be able to use manifestation effectively.

One of the reasons for this is because when you’re visualizing a desired outcome, you need to be in a state of relaxation – and if you are highly stressed, you’re not likely to be able to relax enough to effectively visualize your goals and objectives clearly – and certainly not in the right state of brain activity, the state of brain activity which is known to be responsible for facilitating the transfer of your thoughts to the part of the universe which is “in charge of” manifestation.

What this means in practice – at least for me – is that you need to follow some physical discipline such as yoga, tai chi, or perhaps something more physical like a programme of gym exercises so that your body is healthy and can act as suitable vehicle for your co-ordinated and disciplined mind.

The benefits of yoga are described in detail here – if you read it, you’ll see what a good practice yoga can be, beneficial to both the mind and the body, and certainly keeping effect healthy into old age.

1. Improves your flexibility

Improved flexibility is one of the first and most obvious benefits of yoga. During your first class, you probably won’t be able to touch your toes, never mind do a backbend. But if you stick with it, you’ll notice a gradual loosening, and eventually, seemingly impossible poses will become possible. You’ll also probably notice that aches and pains start to disappear. That’s no coincidence. Tight hips can strain the knee joint due to improper alignment of the thigh and shinbones. Tight hamstrings can lead to a flattening of the lumbar spine, which can cause back pain. And inflexibility in muscles and connective tissue, such as fascia and ligaments, can cause poor posture.

2. Builds muscle strength

Strong muscles do more than look good. They also protect us from conditions like arthritis and back pain, and help prevent falls in elderly people. And when you build strength through yoga, you balance it with flexibility. If you just went to the gym and lifted weights, you might build strength at the expense of flexibility.

See also Why You Should Add Weights to Your Yoga Practice

3. Perfects your posture

Your head is like a bowling ball—big, round, and heavy. When it’s balanced directly over an erect spine, it takes much less work for your neck and back muscles to support it. Move it several inches forward, however, and you start to strain those muscles. Hold up that forward-leaning bowling ball for eight or 12 hours a day and it’s no wonder you’re tired. And fatigue might not be your only problem. Poor posture can cause back, neck, and other muscle and joint problems. As you slump, your body may compensate by flattening the normal inward curves in your neck and lower back. This can cause pain and degenerative arthritis of the spine.

So it’s a given for me that yoga is a practice we should all engage in, but the more remarkable assertion has been made that yoga can actually aid the process of manifestation:

Are you familiar with the concept of manifesting? In a nutshell it’s about creating the life you truly want (with some interesting universal twists thrown in) by visualising what you want, infusing it with love and complete belief and then simply letting the desire for it go.

If that sounds far too confusing (and a little bit like wishful thinking) then perhaps it might help to know that you already do it. Everything and everyone we have in our lives has been manifested there by us. You have created your own life, your own universe and your own circumstances. It’s really quite empowering! Whether you like it or not, where you are right now and how happy you are right now is all because of you. Learning how to consciously manifest – how to create the life you truly want – is totally in your hands.

Maybe you’re brand new to manifesting, or maybe you’re an old hat at it. There are a thousand different techniques ranging from dream boards to chakra balancing (the internet is filled with tips and tricks if you’ve got a few hours) and while I can’t tell you which ones will work for you and which ones won’t, I can tell you that a regular yoga practice may be just the thing you need to tip the odds in your favour. Here are my top reasons why:

Yoga gets us in touch with our inner self

Some people like to call it their soul, others their ‘divine self’, but whatever your name for it, we’re talking about that part of you that makes you, you! Your essence – the part of you that isn’t your job, your gender, your likes and dislikes or even your thoughts. Maybe you haven’t spent a lot of time with this part of yourself, but it’s the part that knows what you really should be manifesting! Spending some time on the mat will help you get closer to this part of yourself and help you to figure out what to bring into your life for your highest good. It takes time, patience and a whole lot of practice, and can be a lot more confronting than you think, but it’s this constant effort to really get to know yourself that’s going to result in you having the life of your dreams.

As you can see, while many people have spoken about the techniques that can help you manifest reality, as far as I’m aware very few people have actually recognised the benefits of yoga as an aid to using The Law of Attraction.  Like I said above, for my readers in Wiltshire and Somerset, I can offer a website that I know has good, reliable, and fully trained yoga teachers’ class listings on it – check here to get details of the classes.

Of course one of the things that people want to understand more clearly is how they can manifest a better life for themselves. Well, in a way, everything on this website is about manifestation, in the sense that I define manifestation as taking charge of your life, getting what you want, and understanding fully that you hold the responsibility for the quality of your life.

Yet many people fail to take responsibility in any constructive form, and go through life unsuccessful, feeling miserable, wondering how they can get what they want, and asking themselves whether or not there is any truth in the principles set out so often and so widely on the Internet about the Law of Attraction. You can click here to see how to access your subconscious power.

Well, the answer is very simple – there is plenty of power in the principles behind the Law of Attraction, and there is plenty of evidence both from personal experience and second-hand accounts on the Internet that you can manifest whatever you want, provided you go about it in the right way.

Glorious Manifestation Is Your Birthright

And make no mistake about this, none of us were born to “act small” – we were all born to be magnificent, achieve our full power, and “shining” glory, demonstrating to the universe the full power of our minds – which is, as you may already realize, our birthright.

This principle has been represented in many ways over the decades, but most commonly in the biblical quotation about humanity manifesting dominion over all things. There’s an arrogance to that assertion which I don’t like, but I can’t deny that this principle does indeed lie behind manifestation and the Law of Attraction: you see, you do in fact have the power to get whatever you desire, to “co-create” it in your life with the universe, and as a result to live in a state of prosperity and abundance in every way ….. not a state of deprivation and misery, as so many people in the world do.

Video – Abraham Hicks on getting what you want

This is not to say that those people who live in poverty are in any way to blame, and this is certainly not their “fault”, even though their lives are a paltry reflection of the possibility that we as humans can achieve: it’s a simple statement of fact that few people have personal capacity or the determination, let alone the willpower and the clarity of thought, to take control of their lives and co-create exactly what they want with the universe.

But I’m assuming that because you’re reading this, you’re one of the people who know exactly what they want – and that you have a goal in every area of your life, and you have a plan by which you can actually achieve those objectives.

Make no mistake about it – to actually change your life for the better, you need to have a blueprint for your life.

In my experience most people spend more time planning their annual vacation or holiday that they do planning their lives – which is a scurrilous and almost immoral way of actually choosing to neglect your own good fortune.

This is not a rehearsal, as you may well have heard of people say so often – you only get one chance at life, and this is it. So let me repeat that: this is not a rehearsal. You get one chance at life and this is it.

If you don’t make the most of life, then you’re depriving yourself not only of your birthright, but of experiences which can be more fulfilling and profound than the life that you’re living at the moment.

That is, of course, assuming that the life you live at the moment is inherently unsatisfying – which I guess, if you’re looking at websites on the Law of Attraction and manifestation, is a fairly reasonable assumption.

So let’s look at manifestation in more detail – what is it, and what can it get you?

Well manifestation is, as I implied above, the creation of a reality which suits you, which comes from your blueprint; you prepare this blueprint so that you can then send the “instructions” out into the universe, which will, provided you’re following certain simple rules, and using certain simple techniques, follow your instructions and manifest whatever it is that you desire.

Now at this point I want to take a slightly sideways step comment on The Secret, which was originally a film, and later a book, published by Rhonda Byrne, in 2006. It achieved massive publicity and popularity on the Internet, and millions of copies of the book were sold – yet testimonials to success with The Secret are few and far between… which has led many people to conclude that the whole area of manifestation is garbage, pure rubbish, and that there is no justification for claiming that you can create reality with the power of your mind.

But I do not want you to be disheartened, or to go away with the assumption that just because few people achieved success with The Secret and its accounts of positive achievement and goalsetting, that manifestation is a myth.

The true nature of The Secret lies in the fact that it was an account of how people who are already successful related their experience of living as natural “creators of reality” – but it didn’t really provide many techniques which people can use to manifest create their own reality in their everyday lives.

And this is the problem here: because there was a lack of instruction, people assumed that they could manifest things without having a detailed manifestation manual, or instruction manual if you prefer, alongside them.

But although manifestation isn’t difficult, the Law of Attraction is quite precise and what it requires from people who try to manifest anything is precision….. so without a detailed manifestation manual, it’s almost impossible for anyone to be successful at co-creating their reality.

In short, let me put it this way: that if you actually want to create a life that makes your heart sing with joy, a life that you’re satisfied with, a life that Eric Byrne, founder of TA (transactional analysis) described as the life of a “winner”, then you need to find out exactly how to use the techniques of manifestation and the Law of Attraction.

There’s no way that you can avoid the processes which require commitment and time from you – even though we live in a society where cutting corners, saving time, and taking the easiest and quickest route to whatever we wish to get hold of is a commonplace thing.

You need to follow the instruction manual to get you what you want: which is a reality you have created, in accordance with your blueprint.

And having said all that I don’t want to be disheartening, because you may be thinking there’s a huge amount of work involved in the creation of reality and the manifestation of abundance or prosperity – in fact the truth is rather different: it’s not difficult at all.

But yes, you do need to know exactly what you’re doing, and you do need to know which techniques you have to use to generate abundance. For example, if I talk about visualization many people will immediately respond by saying “I can’t visualize anything”. Yet the truth is that everybody can visualize perfectly adequately for the process of manifestation.

To take another example, if I talk about the need to supply emotional energy to fuel the process of manifestation many people will talk about the way they fail to feel anything when they picture an image in their minds: but again, it isn’t difficult to summon up emotional energy that’s really intense – you just have to know how to do it.

Well, I could go on, but I hope by now I’ve made the point: manifestation is a reality, but you need a set of instructions on how to do it. And, if you follow the suggestions I’ve made in this article about resources which can help you to co-create a new reality, you shouldn’t have any difficulty at all in this area.

Text Your Ex Back is a great way to repair a relationship after a breakup

You may be wondering what on earth this is all about!

Not an unreasonable question, because few people would imagine that one way to repair a relationship breakup would be to use a system of text messaging via SMS messages on a mobile phone.

Yet this is the proposition put forward in Mike Fiore’s Internet Program, Text Your Ex Back.

The basic idea is that you can use his advice about texting (which comes from a downloadable program which consists of e-book, MP3s, videos and more), to establish successful relationships with partner with whom you have recently broken up.

I suppose this is indeed a rather unusual idea – yet, a number of psychological studies have produce compelling evidence that texting is a vital component of any relationship.

mikefioreSo it may be therefore no surprise to learn that some enterprising Internet entrepreneur – the aforementioned Mike Fiore – has come up with a program which is specifically designed to allow people to re-establish a relationship after a breakup by sending text messages to each other!

Indeed, perhaps there’s less surprise around the very fact that it exists than there is in the suggestion that people might wonder whether it works or not!

For me, the answer is that it does seem to work — at least as measured by the fact there is very little negativity about it on the Internet, and that’s unusual for a program of this kind. Usually, Internet programs which are controversial or disreputable achieve whole websites devoted to them about the charlatanism of the producer and so on and so forth.

However, back to Text Your Ex Back.

Can Text Your Ex Back Really Repair Your Relationship?

Well,  the answer is “yes it can” — and that’s very clear. You see, it’s based on sound psychological principles, that is to say the principles of counseling which would be used if a couple had broken up and went to see an expert relationship counselor face-to-face.

These principles are more or less as follows: removing the emotions from the situation, getting down to the basic emotional issues that caused the relationship to breakup in the first place, and then ensuring that communication is clean and clear, without victimization, blame, guilt, shame or any other quality which will not allow people to speak from an open hearted place.

Some people have suggested that using text messages to repair a relationship, or at least, using them to re-ignite the interest of an ex-partner is manipulative.

It’s an interesting observation really, but  I’m going to offer you the suggestion that almost anything that people do in a relationship that isn’t based on open and honest communication is manipulative.

Surely it is the very fact that people are using straightforward communication devoid of emotional overtones and overlays that makes Text Your Ex Back a rather more ethical and moral system which could very possibly act as a model for communication in other arenas — I’m thinking particularly of e-mail, for example.

But I suppose at the end of the day it doesn’t really matter whether you actually believe in TEXTING your ex as a philosophical practical system — what matters is whether you need to use it to repair your relationship.

You see, Text Your Ex Back in downloadable form does offer a complete information package for people who want to establish neutral and clean communication with their partner, specifically with the object of establishing a new and different relationship.

Mike Fiore has provided complete and comprehensive instructions on the kind of messages that you need to send at every stage of developing a mature relationship — although, it has to be said, that some of his other works like “Text Your Wife into Bed” or “Text the Romance Back” probably more appropriate for a mature relationship than Text Your Ex Back.

However let’s not be small-minded about this — anything which promotes good relationships and healthy communication is a very good thing in my book, and certainly Text Your Ex Back is one of those wonderful programs you can find from time to time on the Internet which actually look like they could both be good value for money, as well as useful and effective.

I am a fan, and I will admit that fact here and now –and the reason I’m such a fan is because I’ve spent a long time trying to work with people whose relationships have been in tatters, and who were unwilling to adopt any kind of mediation, or indeed adopt any kind of decent and open communication with their (ex) partners.

The truth of the matter is that open and honest communication takes considerable emotional maturity, and perhaps in the early stages of rebuilding a relationship you’re not likely to be in place to offer either of those qualities to your ex partner.

So, to get back together with them you probably do need a neutral form of communication which offers much less opportunity for misunderstanding and miscommunication — in that way,  you can actually say what you really think, and you can genuinely offer an open-hearted approach to an ex-partner.

All in all,  I think Text Your Ex Back has a lot to commend it, and I have recommended it to quite a few of my friends – with apparently successful results. Of course there’s only one way to really find out whether it works and that is to actually check it out yourself — which you can do if you click here.

Make no bones about it, Text Your Ex Back is a system which is going to work for a certain number of people — it’s certainly not going to work for everybody. Here’s a video which tells you a little bit more about it.

The Venus Factor Slimming World

And so, ladies and gentlemen I want to introduce due to exciting developments in the field of weight loss and fitness training!

They are the  Venus Factor Diet plan for women, and the Adonis golden ratio plan for men.

Both of these are written by an expert in the field called John Barban, who has many years experience in the fields of sports science, dieting, weight loss, and generally helping men and women achieve their slimming goals, looking good and feeling fine into the bargain.

Now why is John Barban and his Venus factor different from all the rest? Well, the same things apply to the Venus Factor as they do to the Adonis golden ratio — that is to say, they are individualized for the person concerned, and are not some kind of bulk, mass-market, marketing strategy that has been designed to suck everybody who wants to lose weight and feel fitter and healthier into some kind of catch-all treatment program.

So one of the things that we generally take granted when we looking at dieting is the fact that we getting expert advice — but I challenge you to ask yourself if that’s really true.

In all of the diet plans that you’ve come across, such as the Atkins diet, the cabbage diet, the grapefruit diet, that 5/2 diet, the popular Slimming World and WeightWatchers Diet clubs, and all the other areas venues and information where dieting information has been made available, have you ever actually check the qualifications and experience of the people who have been taking your health into their hands?

I don’t want to sound dramatic about this, although I recognize that I may in fact be doing so — but, when you think about it, dieting is almost like an assault on the body — it’s depriving the body of the most fundamental aspect of existence: food.

Now clearly since the body is absolutely dependent on food for its well-being, and the amount of exercise and training that you can do is also critically dependent on the amount of food you eat, it seems pretty clear to me that you are going to require an expert who knows exactly what he’s doing when it comes to human physiology, sports science, exercise and weight training, and of course, rapid weight loss programs such as the Venus Factor “lose 10 pounds in 12 weeks” program. (Check it out here.)

John Barban is in fact such an expert, with qualifications gained over many years in all kinds of academic fields, compounded by huge experience and expertise in the arena of weight loss, fitness training and dietary requirements.

It is this experience, which, together with technological expertise from supporters and colleagues, and enabled him to write a program which produces an individualized exercise and nutrition program for every participant.

Now make no bones about it, this level expertise is fantastic for the theoretical aspect of the program: but, once you have got your individualized diet program and nutrition program in your hand, how are you ever going to know what to do with it?

I think the simple answer to that question is that actually you need the support of fellow travellers on the road to a slimmer you — that is to say, you need the support of other people who are going through the same experience of dieting so that they can guide and support you, and you can guide and support them where possible.

So the Venus Factor has a community of women who are all engaged in the process of slimming down, and who are available to support you in what ever your objectives might be. Naturally enough, the same is true of the Adonis golden ratio, which by the way, is also known as the Adonis index, where there is a community of men who are also devoted to building better bodies, dieting so that their muscle and fat ratio is in proportion, and that their bodies have achieved the chiselled, muscular look that is apparently so attractive to women. Video about the Adonis Golden ratio

Now, having said all of that, it’s worth just enquiring about how the Venus factor  and the Adonis golden ratio differ.

The Venus factor is based on or your female physiology — more specifically, the physiology of leptin, which is the fat burning hormone (to use the vernacular term). Leptin is a hormone that controls the biological their position and release of fat from fat stores in the female body, and its role has no doubt evolved because women need to protect both themselves and their unborn children against times when food is short.

Unfortunately, leptin does its job rather too well– in other words it promotes the laying down of fat rather more efficiently than it promote the release of fat: this is a problem for all modern women, who find it easier to put weight on rather than to lose weight. When you investigate this in more detail, it turns out the problem is actually rather more specific than you might think: the issue really is not a shortage of leptin in the female body, but resistance on the part of the female of the tissues to the activity of leptin.

In other words, an obvious way of encouraging weight loss in women is to ensure that leptin is working rather more efficiently than it otherwise would do — and the whole science and physiology of the Venus factor is based on increasing the effectiveness of leptin in a woman’s body.

By contrast, the Adonis golden ratio is all about ensuring that the proportion of body fat to muscle tissue in a man’s body is appropriate: ideally, a man’s body should contain no more than 15 to 20% body fat, compared to 30 to 40% body fat in woman. It turns out that whether or not a man’s body looks attractive is not depend so much on the absolute amount of fat that is body contains, but more are in fact on the ratio of his shoulder width to his hip width, and the ratio of the length of his torso to his overall height.

The Adonis golden ratio is absolutely designed to ensure that everything a man does will achieve the maximum movement towards the ideal body proportions as well as the ideal proportion of fat in the body tissues — otherwise known, as you may well be aware, as the body mass index or BMI.

Your body have realised by now that I do think the Adonis golden ratio and the Venus factor are programs that come in well above most conventional diet and weight loss programs: in more posts on this site will be looking at how slimming and weight loss can be made easier and more efficient when you adopt these particular programs as your methodology for weight loss.
