The Law of Attraction is a controversial subject which has attracted much interest over recent years following the publication of The Secret by Rhonda Byrne in 2006.
Of course the main question that people want answered when they talk about The Secret is whether or not it explains how to use the Law of Attraction successfully in their own lives.
Well, that’s not a simple question to answer, because in my opinion The Secret didn’t really offer many explanations of how to use the techniques; rather, it describes the impact that manifestation and co-creation can have on people’s lives.
In other words, The Secret was not so much a vehicle for techniques as a vehicle for publicizing the process itself.
To understand the techniques you have to go much deeper and investigate the Law of Attraction as described by individual authors who have some experience of using it in their own lives.
(That’s not to say that Rhonda Byrne doesn’t have experience of using it in in life, of course – I am quite sure she does, since she’s manifesrted millions of dollars using the principles she describes in the book.)
So what then, do we need to know about the Law of Attraction before you will be able to make it work in your own life?
The first thing is that you have to have 100% belief in the ability of the Law of Attraction to manifest things in your life. If you have the slightest doubt, it just won’t work.
In fact this is the major reason why people fail to manifest what they want using Law of Attraction principles (by the way, I should point out at this juncture that the Law of Attraction is also known as the Law of Creation).
It’s no wonder that people fail to manifest – they’re encouraged by many authors to set up ridiculously ambitious targets such as having $1 million in their bank account within six months, which they can’t possibly believe in.
The authors who do this are irresponsible: what they should be telling people is that they need to start with a level of desired outcome, goal, or conscious creation which they can completely believe in.
In other words if your belief limitations are around, say, having $50,000 in six months in your bank account, then that’s absolutely the place you need to start.
The reason that manifestation won’t work if you don’t believe what you’re trying to achieve is because you can’t generate the emotional energy which the universe seems to require to make things manifest.
Emotional energy is an absolutely critical part of propelling the process of manifestation into reality (read more at www.therealsecretofsuccess.com . The interesting thing is that the emotional energy which you use can be almost anything – joy, delight, rage, anger, fear – as long as it’s positive and it doesn’t affect your belief system, the emotional energy is almost irrelevant. It just has to be intense.
So a lot of people speak about using the delight of joy and gratitude, when you picture your life as if you’ve already achieved your desired outcome.
I think that can work well, but I have a preference for using the energy of anger, which usually represents the anger and frustration of not having what you want, to fuel the process of bringing it into your life. It’s equally true, I should say at this point that negative emotions can be just as powerful and manifesting things as positive emotions: the power of hate and anger can manifest just as effectively as the power of love and excitement.
But for your emotional and spiritual health, it’s probably better to use emotions that are positive to manifest what you want – this is likely to have a much better effect on your psychological well-being than using negative emotions like envy, jealousy, greed, hatred and so on, which can be fairly destructive in the longer term.
The second thing you must have is completely intense desire, a fervent passion, for whatever it is that you’re trying to achieve. Being half-hearted about this won’t work, you absolutely need to be totally passionate about the desired outcome that you can almost feel the desire, almost taste the desire for whatever it is that you want.
The third thing is that you must have expectancy: it’s different to believe that something could happen from expecting that it will happen, but only with intense expectancy, with complete expectation of the successful manifestation whatever it is you’re trying to achieve, you likely to find the law of attraction working for you.
And then the final component of this process is what people generally forget – you have to do something. You have to take action. It doesn’t have to be big action, it doesn’t have to be massive action, but it does have to be a step that shows the universe you are completely confident and faithful about the possibility of manifesting what you desire.
What you may well find to be most interesting about this is that if you start with small objectives which you can believe in, they’ll manifest really easily and quickly – but you then need to be aware at this point of coming up against your own disbelief – and this can happen when you’re startled and surprised by the appearance of certain things in your life that you’ve been trying to manifest!
Is probably because the process can seem quite magical – please don’t be put off by this, because as I said above, disbelief is unhelpful to the process and can spoil manifestation process for you! You need to maintain the faith, and use the techniques to their best advantage.
