A founding member of the CorpsVets, Dr. Stollberg has served the corps in many capacities: marching member, Executive Director, Assistant Executive Director, director on the board, visual instructor, bugle repairman, engineering design and equipment truck/trailer repair, etc. Prior to joining the CorpsVets, he was an instructor for the U.S. Naval Academy Drum and Bugle Corps from 1993 to 1995, and he was a member of the Knights Drum and Bugle Corps of Geneseo, IL playing contra bass from 1982 to 1985.
Outside of the drum corps activity Dr. Stollberg served seven years as a Civil Engineer Corps Officer in the U.S. Navy, taught at the U.S. Naval Academy and Kennesaw State University and has many years of project management experience in the cellular phone and electronic materials industry. He has a bachelor's in mechanical and materials engineering and a master's in materials science and engineering from Vanderbilt University. He earned his doctorate in materials science and engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Currently Dr. Stollberg is a research professor at the Georgia Tech Research Institute and an adjunct instructor of materials engineering in the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Georgia Tech. He is also a consultant in the thin film and electronic materials industries.
